Brakes

At Nott's Automotive in Sarasota, we know that in order to keep your car in good shape, it helps to know how it works. Here’s a quick rundown of a system that’s very important, but you take for granted until there’s a problem; your brakes.

Coolant in a vehicle

Coolant is vital to your engine. Without the right type, amount, and proper circulation of coolant, your engine won’t last long. How do you know when it’s time to check it or replace it? Nott's Automotive in Sarasota, FL has the answers.

They are so good. Often they have to fix what the dealer keep missing. I'm thankful to the staff and team at Notts Automotive.

Every time you get into your diesel truck you probably forget all the safety features your vehicle has for you in case of an accident. Airbags are one of the greatest features of modern diesel trucks, though they aren’t often considered until you need them. From Nott's Automotive in Sarasota, FL, here’s a nod to one of the better vehicle advancements of our time and why it's important not to ignore warning signs.

battery

As cars become more technologically advanced, the importance of your vehicle’s battery becomes more important. In the old days, a car battery essentially worked, or it didn’t; if it was good enough to start the car, it was good enough. Moderns vehicles are a different story. A faulty battery can cause a variety of issues, including engine codes, sensor failures, irregular transmission behavior, and the list goes on.

Battery failure often causes issues that are commonly misdiagnosed, and in the hands of the wrong auto repair shop, a mechanic may spend hundreds of your hard-earned dollars chasing problems that don’t exist. At Nott's Automotive in Sarasota, FL, our mechanics are familiar with modern vehicles and the problems that accompany them.

Nott's automotive first diagnosed a problem with the A/C on my 1989 560SL, that three other people hadn't been able to find. Then, they diagnosed an A/C leak on a Toyota Sienna, and most recently they correctly diagnosed a problem with an airbag light for a 2008 Solara. Yea, I'd say these guys know what they are doing! Highly recommend!

Unless you are confident in your abilities as an automotive mechanic, there is really only one rule when purchasing a flood-damaged vehicle: don’t do it. Unfortunately, sometimes sellers aren’t particularly straight-forward with their used cars. Many will try to hide the fact that it’s been damaged by floodwaters at all or try to convince potential buyers that the car is in fact fine. “It has gone months with no issues” or “technically it is flood-damaged but” are two red flags, and while it isn’t impossible for a flood car to be fine, it’s altogether a good idea to stay away.

Service and Repair of Corvette Performance Vehicles

Performance cars require mechanics that perform.

Since its debut in 1953, the Corvette has undergone numerous and dramatic changes throughout the decades. Produced continuously since its unveiling, seven generations of distinctly different Corvettes have been sold, each an American icon. Still, Corvette has remained true to its original concept: two seats, eight cylinders, speed, beauty, and performance without the European price tag are hallmarks of every Corvette.

Here at Nott's Automotive, we enjoy working on these American beauties while using the right diagnostic tools to correctly diagnose any problems. Our technicians have the experience to handle not only the necessary maintenance but also any major repairs that are needed. We do brake repairs, air conditioning systems, engines, timing belts, oil changes, check engine lights, and much more.
