Chevrolet Service & Repair in Sarasota, FL

Chevrolet has been building trucks and cars for over 110 years. From the Silverado to the Corvette, we work on the full Chevy lineup at Nott's Automotive in Sarasota with dealer-level diagnostic tools and OEM parts.

Chevrolet is one of the most common brands we see at Nott's Automotive. The Silverado alone has been one of the best-selling trucks in Florida for decades, and we service them every week. Our shop has the Tech 2 and GDS2 diagnostic software that Chevy dealers use, so we can read every module on the truck. We've been working on Chevys since we opened in 2011, and every repair comes with our 24-month, 24,000-mile Tech-Net warranty.

Common Chevrolet Repairs We See

The 6L80 and 6L90 transmissions in 2007 to 2014 Silverados are a regular visitor to our shop. The common complaint is a hard 1-2 shift or a shudder under acceleration. That's usually the torque converter or a worn pressure control solenoid. We can rebuild or replace the transmission and we also install Jasper reman units with a 3-year, 100,000-mile warranty. On the 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, we see a lot of lifter failure and AFM (Active Fuel Management) collapse. If you hear a tick on startup that doesn't go away, get it checked before it takes out the camshaft.

The 2.4L and 1.5L engines in the Equinox are known for oil consumption. Some of these engines burn a quart every 1,000 miles, and if you don't check the oil regularly you'll spin a bearing. We do oil consumption tests and can replace the piston rings or short block if needed. The PCV system on these engines also clogs up and causes oil leaks from the valve cover and timing cover. We replace the PCV valve cover as a unit to fix it properly.

Tahoe and Suburban models from 2015 to 2020 come in for AC problems. The AC condenser cracks at the driver-side mounting bracket, and the compressor clutch fails around 80,000 to 100,000 miles. We replace the condenser with an updated design that has a reinforced bracket. We also see a lot of Tahoe transfer case failures on the 4WD models. The transfer case pump rubs through the housing and causes a fluid leak. We check the fluid level on every Tahoe service.

Why Bring Your Chevrolet to Nott's

Our ASE-certified technicians use OEM or better parts on every Chevy repair. We have the GM diagnostic software, so we can program modules, read body control codes, and do the same relearns the dealer does after a repair. That includes transmission adapts, crank position relearns, and TPMS sensor programming. We stock common filters, brake pads, and AC components for Silverados and Equinoxes, so most routine work is done the same day. We're a family-owned shop and we treat your truck like it's ours.
