Ford Service & Repair in Sarasota, FL

Ford has been building trucks and cars that Americans rely on since 1903. From the F-150 to the Mustang, we service the full Ford lineup at Nott's Automotive in Sarasota with the right tools and the right parts.

Ford is the most American of automakers, and the F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the country for over 40 years. We see a lot of Fords at Nott's Automotive because there are a lot of Fords on the road in Sarasota. Our shop has invested in the diagnostic equipment needed for Ford's EcoBoost engines, Power Stroke diesels, and the electronic systems that newer models rely on. We've been fixing Fords since we opened in 2011, and we back every repair with a 24-month, 24,000-mile warranty through Tech-Net.

Common Ford Repairs We See

The 5.4L Triton V8 in older F-150s is notorious for spark plugs that break off during removal. If you have a 2004 to 2008 F-150 with the 5.4L, don't wait until 100,000 miles to change the plugs. We use the proper extraction tools and anti-seize to get them out without leaving porcelain in the cylinder head. We also see a lot of EcoBoost turbo issues on the 3.5L and 2.0L engines. Wastegate rattle, turbo seal leaks, and intercooler condensation buildup are all problems we've diagnosed and fixed. If your EcoBoost is losing power or making a rattle under load, bring it in before the turbo fails completely.

On the diesel side, the 6.7L Power Stroke is a solid engine but it needs regular maintenance to stay that way. We handle fuel filter replacements every 15,000 miles, oil changes with the correct synthetic blend, and DPF cleaning. The 6.0L and 6.4L Power Strokes from the mid-2000s need more attention. EGR cooler failures, oil cooler clogging, and head gasket issues are common on those trucks. We can do the bulletproofing work that keeps those engines alive.

Explorer and Escape models come in for transmission shudder, which is often the PTU (power transfer unit) on AWD models running low on fluid. The PTU doesn't have a fill plug from the factory, so most shops skip it. We drill and tap a fill plug so you can service it properly going forward. We also see a lot of AC compressor failures on 2013 to 2017 Explorers.

Why Bring Your Ford to Nott's

Our technicians are ASE-certified and we use OEM or better parts on every Ford repair. We have the IDS diagnostic software that Ford dealerships use, so we can read the same codes and program the same modules. That means we can handle things like module programming after a battery replacement, PATS key programming, and ABS module initialization. You don't have to go to the dealer for that stuff. We also stock the common filters and brake parts for F-150s and Explorers, so most routine service is done same-day.
