Toyota Service & Repair in Sarasota, FL
Toyota builds some of the longest-lasting vehicles on the road. We service the full Toyota lineup at Nott's Automotive in Sarasota, from the Camry to the Tundra, with OEM parts and technicians who know these engines inside and out.
Toyota is the brand we see most often at Nott's Automotive, and for good reason. People in Sarasota drive Toyotas because they last. The 22R and 2GR engines are some of the most reliable ever built. But even a Toyota needs maintenance, and some models have known issues that we've been fixing since we opened in 2011. We use OEM Toyota parts and we have the Techstream diagnostic software to read every module. Every repair is backed by our 24-month, 24,000-mile Tech-Net warranty.

Common Toyota Repairs We See
The 2AZ-FE engine in 2006 to 2011 Camrys and RAV4s is known for oil consumption. The piston rings were redesigned mid-production, but a lot of these engines burn a quart every 1,200 miles. We do a consumption test first, then replace the rings or short block if needed. Toyota extended the warranty on some of these, so check your VIN with us first. On the 2GR-FE V6 in the Camry, Avalon, and Highlander, the rubber oil line to the VVT-i gear can leak and starve the actuator of oil. We replace the rubber line with the updated all-metal line before it fails.
Tacoma frame rust is a real problem on 2005 to 2010 models. Toyota had a frame recall and replaced many of them, but we still see Tacomas with rust on the frame, leaf springs, and skid plates. We inspect the frame on every Tacoma that comes in. If the rust is surface-level, we clean it and coat it. If it's structural, we tell you straight. We also see a lot of lower ball joint failures on 4Runners and Tacomas with over 100,000 miles. The ball joint separates and the wheel folds under the truck. We replace both sides at the same time.
Prius hybrid batteries typically last 150,000 to 180,000 miles in Florida's heat. When the battery starts to fail, you'll see a drop in fuel economy and eventually a P0A80 code. We replace the hybrid battery pack with a new OEM Toyota unit or a quality aftermarket pack, and we can also replace individual modules if only a few cells have failed. We also service the inverter coolant pump, which fails silently and causes the inverter to overheat.
Why Bring Your Toyota to Nott's
Our ASE-certified technicians use OEM Toyota parts on every repair. We have the Techstream software that Toyota dealers use, so we can read hybrid system codes, program keys, and do the same relearns the dealer does. We know the common Toyota problems because we see them every week. We stock oil filters, cabin filters, and brake pads for Camrys, Corollas, and RAV4s, so most routine service is done same-day. We're a family-owned shop that's been in Sarasota since 2011, and we treat your Toyota like it belongs to us.
